Luang Say CruiseLuang Say Mekong Cruises has three boats travelling from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang, or, from Luang Prabang to Huay Xai.  Both cruises stop over for one night in the Luang Say Lodge in Pakbeng. The boats have a capacity for 40 people in comfortable seats and benches. Each seat has an open air vista. There are coffee tables with magazines and booklets to read during your cruise. The itinerary below is based on the cruise down river
Travel down river from Chiang Khong / Houei Say to Luang Prabang OR upriver from Luang Prabang to Huay Xai.
Day 1 - Huai Xai, Pakbeng
Stay at the Luang Say Lodge

The Luang Say boat leaves Huay Xai pier at 9.00am for a cruise down the Mekong River to Pakbeng. En route, one stop is made to observe rural life along the Mekong and observe minorities. A buffet lunch is served on board. Arrive in Pakbeng before sunset and check in at the Luang Say Lodge. Dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River. The Luang Say Lodge sits majestically above the Mekong River, blending artfully into the natural environment through careful landscaping, raised platforms and indigenous styling.
Day 2 - Pak Beng, Pak Ou, LP
Stay at a hotel of your choice in Luang Prabang

Breakfast is on board as you set sail for the village of Huei Thamo. This is a small village a few minutes walk away from the mysterious hidden forest temple of Oum Muong. Afterwards rejoin the boat to continue our cruise southwards. Lunch is on the deck, while leisurely sailing closer to the wild paradise of the "4,000 Islands" Late afternoon disembark from the boat to walk through Ban Deua Tia, a small Laotian Village where the traditional way of life has not changed in centuries. your day's cruise finishes at the most northern tip of Don Khong.
